Creativity Through The Eyes of Skiing
“When downhill skiing, either think faster than you go or slower than you think.”
I’ve had a chance to challenge my creative side by skiing downhill at a high speed with no fear. The level of excitement was unmeasurable. It was just a third time and I was able to catch up with my peers who were fans of skiing. At some point, I caught myself in uncertainty: “Which pathway to choose?”, “How to maneuver?”, “Can I even do that?”. When I face a boundary, I have to elaborate on the pace of my approach. If I go too fast without having a clear idea of the steps in my mind, I might miss a turn or crash. On the other side, if I think too slowly, I may lose momentum or an opportunity. The key is to keep the one golden line - being neither too impulsive nor too hesitant. It feels like a dance between speed and strategy; it is your show. Nonetheless, I was not afraid of crashing; was full of confidence and excitement. My creativity thrives on the excitement of exploring the unknown, pushing boundaries, and the joy of the next bend that keeps me on my toes. Thus, I just did what I wanted to do. Even though I crashed several times on my way down, I took brave steps and got up every time. Thankfully, I did not break any bones. I did great and I don’t regret that. It was worth dancing on the snow while also leaving the lines of creativity on the way.
Hope you get something for yourself from my little story. Thank you!
