Fall Down Seven Times, Get Up Eight
I have struggled with failures my entire life. Some still haunt me to this day. I want to be perfect, but I am learning that is not possible.
I specifically remember in seventh grade that I could not make edits to my essays because I would do everything in my power to write it “right” the first time. When my teacher told us to make edits, I would stare at my paper blankly. Now, majoring in interior design, I think it has really helped me to notice that nothing is perfect. There is always room for improvement. Redoing floor plans one hundred times over again and once you think it is perfect, you will get critiqued on every little detail.
Failing is a part of life. It is a way of life.
My babysitter when I was in elementary school had a tattoo on the back of her neck, “Fall down seven times, get up eight.”
Keep falling. Want to fall.
After you fall and fall again. Until you are bruised in the knees, then you get up. Get up and look back and walk away.
Walk away until you fall again.
