RUN A MARATHON, IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE BY SEIF BOULOS
After reading the book “Can’t Hurt Me” by David Goggins, which is about the amazing life of David Goggins I was truly inspired. The book details the life of David Goggins a retired navy seal who overcame extreme hardship early in his life and has run many ultramarathons and previously had the world record for most pull ups in a 24 hour period.
The book was very inspirational to me and motivated me to start challenging myself through running. This led me to go from being able to run 1 mile when I started reading the book to running 16 miles one month later. I then went on to run a full marathon not too long after that. That achievement really opened my eyes to what is possible and what I can achieve. I had never had any running experience and thus previously would never have believed I could run a marathon. Being able to do so convinced me that I needed to be more ambitious and more creative in the goals that I set out for myself, because I knew that if I had a strong enough desire to achieve something and then put in the subsequent effort that is necessary then there is nothing I could not achieve. I believe that this has a lot to do with creativity because being creative means not just going through the motions but being deliberate with your actions, goals, and your life.
