THE IMPORTANCE OF SILENCING YOUR VOJ BY EMMA ABBOTT
VOJ holds you back from being yourself, from being truly happy. I am not afraid to admit that my VOJ has gotten in my way. My VOJ is very cruel. About five years ago, I suffered from depression.
I fell into a black hole and felt like there was no way I could get out. I have a terrible habit of comparing myself to others. Back then, I would endlessly think about switching lives with another person. I hated myself so much that I thought physical pain would take away the emotional pain. Oh boy, was I wrong. Thank God, I had people to turn to for help. I had a support system that truly cared about me. Today, I am proud to say that I am more mentally healthy.
It has been a journey of learning how to self-love and embrace my flaws. I’ve learned to be unapologetically myself. Find your support system because you’re not the only one struggling, and people are more than willing to help you. Silencing my VOJ has empowered me to live the life I want. Silencing my VOJ saved my life.
