STRAWBERRY GUM BY TALIA ABRAMS

STRAWBERRY GUM BY TALIA ABRAMS

Sitting in my favorite class, I decided to pop a piece of dusty pink strawberry gum in my mouth. Today I wanted to go against the standard mint that I normally chew. My idea was that maybe by chewing the strawberry gum, I would remember what was being said in the class and link it to the sweet and punchy flavor of the gum. This way, the next time I chewed strawberry gum (maybe over the summer) I would be brought back to the classroom and remember the lessons.
The biggest thing I’ve learned about creativity is fluency and risk-taking. Trying to do a of things, and allowing yourself to silence your view of judgment will free you. Allowing yourself to try any idea that comes your way, just to see if it will work, is the biggest gift you could give yourself—because sometimes it leads to something extraordinary.
