BURYING A DREAM BY MARIA VENEZIANO

BURYING A DREAM BY MARIA VENEZIANO

It’s been 2 years, 8 month, 14 days, and 2 hours to this day that I gave up on my dream and my passion, soccer. On August 16, 2014 I received an injury, specifically a year and a half long concussion that helped me conclude my passion since I was a child, playing sports in college. It wasn’t just the concussion after deciding to make a comeback I got a foot injury where now I experience pain every step I walk. However now amount pain and suffering compares to the feeling of being on the pitch and playing the game I love. Yet I have failed myself because I was convinced that those injuries were signs that I should not play. I decided to stop trying to push myself, my body, through the injuries, and stop playing the game that means so much to me; instead I moved on with my life. However the learning of creativity has reminded me to have fun, smile, laugh, follow your passion, failure is okay and to take risks. So with that being… In 3 months, 27 days, 20 hours, and 50 minutes I, Maria Veneziano, am going to walk on to the Miami soccer club and or varsity team as a senior.
