SECOND WRONG ANSWER BY SAMMI PODOLYAN
Most of the time, you settle for the First Right Answer.
I’ve been told that goal of creativity is to find the Second Right Answer.
But what about everything in between? It’s not easy to just find a brilliant and innovative solution to a problem or answer to a question.
In between is when you fail. After the first right answer and before the second right answer is a million wrong* answers. Sometimes your ideas are too crazy and not at all feasible. That’s okay, write them down anyways. Sometimes your idea is wrong for you because it’s too simple, or it doesn’t quite accomplish the goal. Write that one down too. All of your wrong answers contain something valuable. They could inspire your Second Right Answer.
*Don’t forget: bad and wrong are subjective. Your Second Wrong Answer might just be your Second Right Answer
