FUCK EVERYONE ELSE BY CHRISTINA TOWNSEND

I find that everyone in my life has opinions of what I should do after graduation. I also find that the more someone tells me how perfect a certain option would be for me, the less I want to do it.

Recently, I was providing perspective to a friend struggling with the same battle between what others want her to do and what she wants. I told her that for me, I don’t want to do the thing that anyone else expects of me. I want to follow a crazy dream that most people don’t understand.

Because at the end of the day, everyone around me will always have their own idea of what is right for me, but it’s my life. I must be the one to choose my path.

I need to let go, stop worrying about what anyone else thinks, and trust that I can make any decision the right one as long as I believe in it.

The only person any of us owe anything to is ourselves, so fuck what everyone else thinks. Follow your own path and create your own happiness. The people who matter and belong in your life will stick by your side wherever you go.

And if people tell you that you’re crazy or stupid or bound for failure, tell them thank you. Because the happiest people I know are the ones who did what no one else would.
