3 AM Creativity
True creativity knows no bounds, and too often, neither does my sleep schedule. So every night, I lie awake beside a tiny notepad that sits on my nightstand, just within arm's reach.
Like clockwork, the routine never changes. As soon as my head hits the pillow and the day ends, the most outlandish brainstorming session begins. So instead of drifting off, I’ll pick up my notepad and begin writing down my intrusive, nocturnal ideas.
My 3 AM thoughts include the next best business pitch, plots of fictional movies, blueprints of my future apartment, and completely made-up conversations I’ll probably never have.
Then on April 4th, 2020, at around 3 AM, I conceived an idea for the next viral social media post. I immediately got out of bed and filmed it. It got 792.9k views.
Before I knew it, I was producing viral content while the world was asleep. All at 3 AM, I baked a cake (397.6k views), painted a self-portrait (243.3k views), and even wrote and recorded a song (189.3k views).
We don’t always pick when and where our creativity peaks, sometimes it chooses for us. So when your’s does, find the perfect place for your tiny notepad to sit and start writing in it.
