That One Friend
When I think about my struggles with creativity, I often relate it to that one friend who shows up
when they please, and deserts you when you need them the most. It doesn’t always manifest
when you need it, but it has the tendency to strike at the most unexpected times.
There are days when ideas flow effortlessly, painting vivid portraits of my thoughts. But then,
there are days when self doubt creeps in. I constantly find myself questioning my abilities and
judgment, leading to hesitation and fear of making mistakes.
I’ve learned that creativity is not always a linear path. It’s a zigzagging and baffling adventure.
My struggle with creativity has taught me patience, the value of persistence, and the importance
of not fearing failure. I've discovered that inspiration can be found in the most unexpected
places, from a casual conversation with that one friend, to a random observation as I’m walking
to class.
Embracing the journey has led me to understand that creativity is not just about the finished
product; it's about the growth, the exploration, and the willingness to embrace the uncertain.
