Learning to Walk Again
Everyday we walk. Without a thought in mind, we just get up and walk.
From class, to work, to the library, around campus, and more.
We walk alone or with others.
We walk and listen to music, podcasts, talk on the phone, or in silence.
We don’t remember the very moment we learned how to walk as children.
We saw adults around us doing it, so we started to do it.
We probably fell down many times, learning to find our balance.
Yet with every fall, we still got back up and kept going.
When you think about it, those first few steps signify the beginning.
The beginning of learning where we want to go.
The beginning of realizing it can be frustrating to fall after trying again and again.
But we kept trying, and eventually completed the challenge.
Learning to walk is like learning creativity.
It is a learning process where we must stay open minded.
We have to explore, we have to learn from others, we have to create.
When we fail, because we will, we have to get back up again.
Success will come from the process of learning from our mistakes.
So as I continue to learn more about the creativity process, I know I will probably fail.
I won’t be discouraged.
I will just remember that the process of learning to walk wasn’t easy at first.
But I know I can get there.
