Keep Off The Track
I will not have a desk job.
I want to say this now as a reminder and something to look back on when I am older.
Studies show that people on their deathbed regret the things that never did more than the things
they did do.
I can’t let that happen to me. I can’t be the former dreamer who now stares out the window of
their cubicle thinking about what I could have done differently.
But I get why so many people give up.
Because it gives us a sense of security working in that life. We see the same people every day,
sleep in the same bed, and eat at the same places.
I have experienced that stability in my life but, it is the instability, and the excitement of not
knowing where I am going that drives me to be better and achieve more.
They will tell you to wait until retirement and then the world is your oyster right?
But you can't climb mountains when you are 65. You can’t cliff dive into the water or get lost in
the forest or run, jump, climb... Do you see where I am getting at?
To experience everything takes a lifetime of dedication and curiosity. From learning instruments
to studying art. Exploring philosophy to writing encapsulating stories. Mastering the culinary arts
to becoming an expert historian. To feel all the emotions we possibly can and to endlessly study
the beauty of human existence.
