Find the Magic in the Little Things
by Hayley Jacquin
I used to think that practicing creativity meant sitting down and brainstorming or creating an art project, or craft. I realize now that creativity can stem from all of the little things around us. The small things in life give us the greatest meaning. It is up to us to try to decide what that meaning is and how it can relate to our own lives.
Paying attention to the small things that get us out of bed in the morning. Paying attention to colors in nature or the butterfly that peacefully flew by you when you were having a chaotic day. Noticing the little things can help us slow down and be appreciative. Find time to notice small kind gestures from strangers, the time that your parents took to write you a letter to send to you at school or the excitement that your cat has when you finally come home after a long day.
Finding the magic in the small things that I see everyday is what keeps me going and motivates my creativity.
Life is too short to ignore the magic that is right in front of us.
