DRIVE BY MOLLY MONSON

DRIVE BY MOLLY MONSON

Drive is getting out of bed after hitting snooze twice.

Drive is forgetting to turn in an assignment and submitting it despite an inevitable zero.

Drive is doing a task all wrong and internalizing feedback and constructive criticism for the future.

Drive is failing an exam you spent twenty hours in the library studying for.

Drive is running late and showing up anyway.

Drive is pushing yourself through obstacles that seem insurmountable.

Drive is accepting failure as a part of the process.

Drive is screwing up, but learning from those mistakes.

Drive is having an excuse, but knowing that does not equal absolution.

Drive is accepting that things don’t always go your way.

Drive is realizing that a band-aid is better than an open wound.

Drive is hard work paying off.

Drive is trying harder the second, third, fourth, fifth time; until you get it right.

Drive is knowing the limits of your abilities and pushing yourself, just to find you’re capable of more than you think.

Drive is lighting a fire under your own ass, so to speak.

Drive is decentralizing your perspective and understanding the expectations of others.

Drive is a clear vision of yourself and your goals.

Drive is understanding that life is unpredictable, but not unpreparable.

Drive is applying for that job you know you’re underqualified for but capable of completing.

Drive is not being afraid to be passionate about something.

Drive isn’t perfection. Drive isn’t relentless action towards a better future.

Drive is growing, learning, changing with your environment.

Drive is getting knocked down, but getting right back up as soon as you’ve caught your breath.

Drive is striving to be the best version of yourself that you can possibly be, but also knowing that everyone has their off days.

Drive is accepting yourself as you are, but knowing you can push yourself to be better.

Drive is self-motivation, self-reflection, introspection, and honesty.

We all have the keys we need within us to succeed, you just have to know how to turn the key in your ignition and shift into drive.
