FIND YOUR FLOW BY SIMEON MAGLICH

My mind is a cluttered place. It is a place where I often feel trapped, confined, and claustrophobic. I know my mind has the ability to be an engine for creativity, but I have to fight through worries, responsibilities, and apprehension to carve out enough space for my creativity to live.

I have found that I engage in creativity least during the school year when dates and deadlines rule my thoughts. Responsibilities and stress slowly eat away at my imagination. How do I escape?
Overtime, I have discovered a way to make peace with my mind during busy seasons; I find a state of flow. For me, this comes through exercise. Rock climbing and soccer specifically. Through physically engaging in these sports, I am able to disengage my mind. Life feels simple. Thoughts feel effortless.

This experience allows me to get in touch with my creativity again. My mind rests and the overbearing thoughts slip away. I struggled to think of myself as a creative for a long time. In reality, I only needed to give my mind the space to explore.

What is blocking your creativity? Clear the clutter. Find your flow.
