Creativity is in you…go find it by Ryan Bell
The world is at your fingertips. You have numerous ways to further your creative self. You have professors, friends, family members, the internet as a resource, as well as many other things that can inspire you to be more creative. Everything can spark creativity, but most importantly you can create that spark through observing nature. One of the biggest fears people have when it comes to being creative is fear of judgement. I have found that when I immerse myself in nature my creativity spikes. Creativity is within you…go find it.
Little moments in nature have gone a long way for me and my personal growth. This picture displayed above is one of my favorite moments in college. This event I was surrounded by my friends who helped me spike my growth in creativity by motivating me to further find ways to discover my legacy at Miami. Other influential nature settings for my creative growth have been watching the snowfall, sitting in the sun, and taking walks because they are influential ways that allow me to fully separate from the world and reality around me. Creativity is within you…go find it.
I challenge you the next time you are trying to solve a problem: to go outside, take a deep breath, and find a place to sit and brainstorm ideas on how to solve your problem. Go for quantity and worry less about quality because quality comes when you create so many ideas. Eventually, I hope you discover ideas you can further develop into a “prototype” allowing you to test and grow from this entire experience. Creativity is within you…go find it.
