BEAT YOURSELF UP BY PATRICK REDDEN

BEAT YOURSELF UP BY PATRICK REDDEN

I hate myself. The things I have done in my past and the bad habits I have formed have hurt me and others in horrible ways. I shouldn’t think like that though, right? I’m not that person anymore so it doesn’t matter, right? “Old habits die hard.” Ever heard that before? Well it’s true and it takes intrapersonal control and dedication to break those harmful habits. So… beat yourself up.

“Now Patrick that’s just harmful!” Yeah I hear you and it CAN be, but it can also be an incredibly useful tool in terms of self-growth. Fighting is bad. If people fight someone gets hurt, simple as that. There’s a way to ensure you don’t get too badly hurt in a fight though: Sparring! Get in the ring and fight yourself! Pick out your flaws and the things you want to change. KNOW what you want to do better, and next time someone comes to tear you down, not only are you stronger, but they can’t touch you. You will know if their insults are empty or true.

So yes I hate myself and I hate myself more often than I’ve ever hated anyone else. In fact I make sure to hate myself at least once a day. I know my faults. I point them out every day and I work on them. So next time someone throws a punch, I know they can’t touch me. Only I can, because I am honest enough with myself for it to hurt.
