GO HANG OUT WITH YOURSELF BY MARGE PILKINGTON

GO HANG OUT WITH YOURSELF BY MARGE PILKINGTON

Over the weekend, I had a tough conversation that I had been planning on having for a while.  I  came into it with loads of advice from my friends and family.  What I didn’t have coming into that conversation was advice from myself.  Long story short – the conversation was a dumpster fire.  I was using the words and thoughts of everyone else, and not the words of myself.  I realized that I needed to go hang out with myself to actually understand my intentions.  Yes, collaboration is important in creativity, but before you can collaborate effectively, you need to hang out with yourself and have an empathy interview with yourself.  Embrace your emotions and listen to what you have to say – then you can ask what others have to say.
