THE POWER OF YES: WHY NO GREAT STORY STARTS WITH "NO" BY CONNOR PATON

Memories and stories; 2 things everyone has, yet somehow some people tend to have the craziest most attention grabbing experiences. Maybe I am one of those people and maybe not, but one thing I know for certain is that there is something at the heart of every good story. Something that we often belittle the power of... the “Yes”. There are moments in everyone's lives where opportunities present themselves. Sometimes these are scary, hidden, or ambiguous, and sometimes clear as can be. Opportunity is nothing without saying yes. I have found and still believe that no great story ever starts with no. Great stories start with saying yes to something outside of your comfort zone, something new and unknown. I encourage anyone reading this to stop and think next time you go to say no. Is there a reason, is it fear or discomfort? If so, is it rational? We as humans box ourselves into routine, into the do’s and don'ts, the yes’s and the no’s. Let’s start changing that, live wildly, say yes, try new things, and above all create a life full of great stories.
