MY CREATIVE WAKE-UP CALL
Breaking the Malaise this Semester
Being online all of last semester, it was easy to fall into a dull and unmotivated state; the ~ malaise ~ as Friedman calls it. My life had been an uncreative habit of waking up, going to Zoom University, punching my clock at the warehouse, then going to sleep and repeating week after week. Academically I did fine with this cycle, yet I was doing myself a major disservice and I never realized it…
Spring semester started right with a wake-up call at 8:30 AM in Friedman’s ESP 252 class. The energy he brought to the class was eye-opening and having already missed an assignment on the first day definitely got my attention. After each 252 class, I found myself being more and more inspired and motivated to assess my life and actions.
I was also thankful to be welcomed into the wonderful ORGANIZATION (it’s not a club) that is MUCCI. Having a group that is motivated to grow professionally into better and better innovators has truly turned my life around from last semester. I am now involved in an extracurricular where it is encouraged that I make the rules and determine what my legacy in the organization will be.
Now I find myself relating these processes and skills to my life making it noticeably more meaningful than last semester. Yet, I still feel as though I’ve only scratched the surface of my creative potential, so I’ll continue to:
Create
Iterate
Innovate
