WE ARE LIVING BY A SET OF RULES THAT DOESN'T EXIST BY GRACE OLDING

WE ARE LIVING BY A SET OF RULES THAT DOESN'T EXIST BY GRACE OLDING

We are born with two fears: loud noises and falling. As we grow up, we are taught to fear other things just as we are taught rules. Teachers, parents, schools, friends, and society will throw rules at you, but do we ever consider why we take it upon ourselves to live by them?

We grow up and the creativity is practically beaten out of us. We are taught how to behave, how to speak, and how to think. Everyone wants you to follow their specific set of rules and everyone has a different expectation of which rules will lead to success - so who’s right? How do you know?

Living by other people’s rules might lead you to their version of success, but it likely won’t fulfill you. You do not have to do everything the way other people tell you to, nor the way society insists you to. In fact, I'm begging you not to. I challenge you to question the status quo and write your own set of “rules,” ones that will fulfill you. Only then will you be successful.
