THE HUNGER FOR ANSWERS BY TOMMY HARTZELL
The first question we begin to ask as kids are, “why?”. Why is the grass green? Why do I have to eat vegetables? Why am I learning math? The answers we were always given were never satisfying. They were always- because you need to or because that is what you are supposed to do. We were taught to stop asking questions and just accept.
At first, I allowed this way of thinking to persist in my life, but now I realize it has hindered my creative ability. The question “why?” is what drives my creativity and innovation. The question “why?” is what brings excitement to my life. This is why I have made it a goal to continue asking myself “why?” almost every day. I enjoy searching for possible answers or solutions to confusing things or problems I encounter. It has helped me bring back the creativity and curiosity that I lost years ago.
Now, my hunger for answers keeps growing. Every. Single. Day.
