“Airspeed alive”

The statement that means you are ready for takeoff, and my favorite part about sitting in left seat of a little plane. Everything leading to that moment, from the speed and direction of the wind to the mechanics of the plane had lined up for you to lift off of the ground and head to the endless sky.

It’s a moment of looking forward, being aware, and taking the next step. It’s a moment of excitement, even though the motions are muscle memory. It’s the moment that started my lifelong love of aviation, and where my curiosity and creativity are inspired.

It’s the start of exploration and a change in perspective.
