CREATIVITY IN THE CLOSET BY MADISON MASINI

CREATIVITY IN THE CLOSET BY MADISON MASINI

I see creativity every time I go into my closet. I look at the different components of my wardrobe, jewelry, shoes and accessories and I think about how I can put those different pieces together to express how I feel and how I want to look and what kind of impression I want to make with my fashion. This is new for me. Until I came to college I only wore t-shirts, yoga pants and jeans. I worried about branching out into edgier clothes because I didn’t quite know what to do with them and I didn’t want to stand out. I was afraid of being noticed. A couple of years ago I realized that I was limiting myself and my opportunity to express my artistic side in how I put my outfits together. Once I took the first step I realized that this wasn’t hard or embarrassing at all and I was pretty good at it. This taught me that I should be doing this in all aspects of my life. What drives my creativity is the realization that I have something to offer and I just want to be my own genuine self.

Fashion was my first step toward opening up my mind and my confidence. Fashion showed me how much fun it can be to let go. My creativity expands everyday as I try new things and don’t let fear or my VOJ stop me from expressing myself.
