STOP LIVING IN THE NOW, START LIVING IN THE FOR NOW BY ELIZA WATERS
Everyone is always telling young people to live in the now, but living in the now puts us in a place where we’re expected to take the crazy risks. Being young has become synonymous with being wild. But isn’t being wild its own type of stagnation? I propose we stop living in the now and start living in the for now, because who knows what’s coming. Did you expect an international pandemic to send us all into quarantine for months on end? I certainly didn’t.
A huge part of Entrepreneurship is embracing ambiguity, and that’s what the for now is all about. Perhaps for now I will follow a path of introversion and reclusiveness, but tomorrow holds whatever tomorrow may hold and next week holds whatever it may hold, and there is no way for us to know what is coming.
So, next time you cannot make a decision, or you don’t feel like you can do it all, why not just choose something for now? Rarely is there harm in changing your mind as long as you’re not afraid to embrace the ambiguity of the moment.
