FROM PASTA BAKES TO CRAB CAKES BY ALEXANDRIA BARNETT

I had to think about where I could see creativity in my daily life. Now it is obviously all around me every day but I wanted to figure out where it really honed in, and that was my cooking. Once a week I host “family dinners” at my house where 5 of my closest friends and myself spend two hours just together without any distractions. That time has become the center of my creativity. From pasta bakes, to stir fry bowls, stuffed mushrooms, to crab cakes and even grilled octopus I take that time to focus on how I can take the ingredients in my fridge and pantry and turn it into something beautiful and delicious.  My creativity comes out in the food I make and in turn brings the people I love most together.
