INNOVATING MYSELF BY MICHAEL JOHNSON
Piano is a big part of my life. I began playing the piano at the age of four. When I was younger, I took lessons, but as I got older I began teaching myself how to play. I was not like my brothers; they could read music well. However, I could not.
Reading music was hard for me. It took me hours to learn how to play a simple song. I soon found out, after listening to one of my favorite songs, that there was a different way to learn. With no sheets of music and just listening to the radio, I could play a whole song. This is where I first began innovating.
After I learned that I could innovate myself, my life changed. I started looking for ways that I could innovate other things around me. It has helped me become more prepared for work and school. I have learned from my weaknesses and focused on my strengths. I believe everyone can do this in his or her life. It has helped me achieve my goals and I believe it can help you achieve yours.
