FROM WITHIN BY ELLA BRUMITT
To me, creativity has always been an artistic expression. My life has been surrounded by art, architecture, fashion, occasionally theater, and I have seen these forms of expression as creativity.
When trying to write about my own creativity, I struggle because I feel like I do not apply to any of the forms of creativity I listed. I am not a very artistic person and the term creative has always been associated with artistic expression.
In order to coin the term creativity to me personally, I made it a physical entity. I told myself that my creativity was expressed through my physical actions and doings such as traveling and sports. These are things that I love and enjoy, just like those who practice in art and theater and that is the way I was trying to connect creativity.
However, throughout the weeks of this course, Dr. Friedman made me realize that creativity is more of a mindset than a physical doing. Every person is creative and expresses it differently. Having creative thoughts and ideas is just the same as a piece of art or performing a dance. Each person is the embodiment of his or her own form of creativity; the way they present themselves from the outside is because of the creativity within.
