TRAVELING GIVES ME A DRIVE TO BE CREATIVE. BY ALEAH SEXTON
When I am entrenched in a new culture – completely vulnerable and wide-eyed – my ability to see the world in color is at its peak. I want to speak the language, dance with the locals, find the hidden paths, and create a new version of myself.
My VOJ is silenced and I’m willing to throw myself into new situations. I approach the world in a different lens. My spirit is enlightened and I’m an entirely new person.
I jump out of planes, swim with sharks, and climb volcanoes. I find ways to add adventure in everything I do.
When I am back to reality, my life overflows with obligations. It’s more difficult to let go and be free.
It’s a struggle to live everyday life with the same elation I have when I travel. My passion to discover the world and its beauty somehow leads me to go beyond what I thought were my creative capabilities.
However, it’s vital I wake up every morning with the same mindset I have when I am traveling. To be challenged by the unknown, to live with adventure, and to be creative in my pursuit for adrenaline is what brings me serenity.
