THE CREATIVITY IS BORN IN THE SUFFERING BY MINYI ZHANG
Buddha Sakyamuni once said, there are seven sufferings throughout one’s lifetime: the suffering of birth, aging, illness, death, the separation from the loved one, association with the unbeloved one, and not getting what is wanted.
Unfortunately, as an ordinary person among millions of others, I am dragged by thousands of the troubles generated from the seven sufferings. Every time, when I am struggling in the Gulf of misery, and when I go through those dark time facilitated by the others’ help. I would think about how many more people in this world still mire in the sufferings and pains.
Fortunately, by thinking of that, I have obtained the power from the idea that there is a meaning behind my pains that I have to overcome those pains, then to create the “weapons” to help others to fight against the difficulties and sorrows.
That’s it, the sorrow gives me the power and bravery to live in the world full of difficulties. It empowers me to feel, to think, and to create with empathy. The suffering is the biggest origins of creativity to me. Similar to our ancestors, they built up houses for withstanding the atrocious weather and monster’s attack. The creativity is born in the suffering.
My dear friends
To whom
I know or do not know
I am feeling your sufferings with my most genuine heart
Just as I feel my own
Please do not give up
I promise to you, and to myself
I am willing to dedicate my whole life to relieve your pains.
