BEING YOURSELF IS CREATIVE BY LAUREN SMITH
Creativity is letting go.
Creativity is having fun.
Creativity is not taking yourself too seriously.
Creativity is being vulnerable.
Creativity is ignoring your fear of judgement.
Creativity is laughing.
Creativity is taking things “too far.”
Creativity is being aware.
Creativity is independence.
Creativity is dependence.
Creativity is confidence.
Creativity is freedom.
Creativity is childish.
Creativity is knowledge.
Creativity is being extra.
This is a list of the first fifteen adjectives that explain what creativity means to ME. Creativity means something different to everyone, and this is an important point to understand. One main reason I consider myself creative is because I am aware of creativity in all aspects of my life, on a daily basis. Something I’ve recently realized is that you can twist anything into “being creative.” For example, all of the qualities and adjectives I’ve listed above have been consistent patterns in my life, even without the word “Creativity is” in front. With that said, and now being incredibly aware of creativity, I’ve transformed all of these patterns into my own definition of creativity. Being creative DOES NOT mean you have to change yourself because creativity is a learned mindset. Now, I want anyone who is reading this to think about what qualities of your own best describe yourself. After you think of a list, ask yourself, “How have these qualities contributed to my personal creativity?” Answering this question will further prove that creativity is personalized.
