The Creative Wall

The Creative Wall

I slammed my hand down on the panel, mimicking the judges on America’s Got Talent. I set plates of food on the table, serving customers at my restaurant. I stepped foot on the gymnastics beam, ready to perform my improved routine.

Believe it or not, all these activities were completed at the same place - a breakwall that ran across the beach at my family lake house.

My days at the beach were centered around this wall. During my childhood years, this wall provided endless opportunities for imagination. It was the epitome of childhood innocence and creativity.

As I grew older, I stopped playing and making time for creative pursuits. Instead of innovating ways to use the breakwall, I stepped right over it.

With age, we put a wall up and lose our creative sparks. Let’s break down this wall and channel our childhood creative playground - AKA the world we live in.
