Confidence is Key
Land and Jarman’s creativity test shows that 98% of 5-year-old children were creative geniuses. However, by age 10 only 30% showed this aptitude for creativity, and by 25, only 2%. There are several reasons why this decline occurs but one that I have made an active effort to correct is a lack of confidence.
We all have the capability to be creative, some people are just too scared to act on it. Having confidence is essential to taking risks and living life with meaning. Recently, I have been building on my confidence by never letting my VOJ get the best of me and being proud of all my work. It helped me create deeper memories, unlock new ways of thinking, and brought passion into all aspects of my life.
So now I challenge you to spend a whole day living as your most confident self. Wear your favorite outfit, even if it doesn't fit the occasion. Play that song that’s been stuck in your head that you don’t think anyone else will like. Share your opinions in class, regardless of what your peers will think of it. You will be surprised by the newfound freedom that only confidence can bring.
