Winning with Happiness
One of the best lessons that I have learned is that you need to do what makes you happy. I realized this last summer when I decided to stop doing competitive international skeet shooting. International skeet has been most of my life since the 7th grade and I had visions of me making it to the highest level in competition. Once I got onto the National International skeet team, I realized that I had reached a massive goal of mine and I felt fulfilled for a while until I realized that I wanted more than just international skeet. This is when I made the hard decision to stop competing and focus on making other memories. This taught me that you need to go with your gut sometimes and do what makes you happy! After I made this decision, I felt like I had an opportunity to try new things and I regret forcing myself to only focus on international skeet for so many years. I loved competing but I realize there are more things in life than just winning metals.
