Diverge on an Adventure
By: Jack Youngs
When I was in 5th grade, I said to my mom “I want to be an astronaut,”. That was my dream.
Although that dream has changed over the years, that memory makes me question, “Am I pursuing it?”
We’ve been told since we were young to take the road less traveled… yet the majority don’t.
Most do what they’re told is “right” and never stop to think if there is another path to be taken. How
“It’s impossible” “Not practical” and “What will people think?” are some phrases we hear and tell ourselves when remotely considering a different path on our journey.
Diverging on the path less traveled takes risks. It takes ignoring our voice of judgment. It takes looking for a second right answer.
But what’s important is that path, that second right answer, exists. What matters is how you make the “impossible” possible.
It takes thinking of a lot of new, original ideas, then acting and building on them. It takes initiative.
And diverging onto a new, crazy, spontaneous path can lead to an adventure of a lifetime.
