Travel Outside of Your Comfort Zone
“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page”
- Saint Augustine.
How can anyone think uniquely if they only experience the same people, places, and
culture?
I went to school with the same people from when I was four years old until I graduated
high school at eighteen. My life was a complete bubble, and I was entirely unexposed to
anything that existed outside of it. Coming to Oxford, I found myself in another bubble,
one that was also unexposed to much of the outside world.
Then I got the opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy, and discovered how
mind-opening seeing other parts of the world can be. Life, to me, is about being outside
of your comfort zone, discovering new places, meeting new people, and learning things
along the way.
Traveling is the only way to get all these experiences at once, forcing you to learn new
things and interact with people you would have never met. So, always travel, discover,
learn, and find ways to get out of your comfort zone to think differently.
