THE CHILD MINDSET BY EMMA ORAZEN

THE CHILD MINDSET BY EMMA ORAZEN

What happened to drawing unknown objects with chalk or making the greatest forts of all time in the living room? As children, we would find a ball on the ground creating new games to play with it. Today, children sit around caught by the temptations of technology.

Albert Einstein once said, “creativity is intelligence having fun.” In just five words, Einstein inspires people to welcome the creative process. Having fun while growing up pushes children to explore and interact with the world around them. There are no rules or obligations to imagination. Whether it be running around the yard on a mission, or capturing insects, children open up their minds to so much more than adults. Looking at life through a child’s mindset is crucial because it can change your own world. I do this through my little cousins. They teach me to not take everything so seriously because it is important to take life as it comes. They have led me to try new things that I never would have thought to do. Aging should not cause people to lose the risks and independent thinking they used in younger years. Get outside and find yourself again without sitting behind a screen. As technology grows, so does the lack of creativity. Looking up at the life around you will bring more energy and fun into living. In 20 years from now will you have more memories from watching a good netflix show, or from going on adventures with friends? Imagination comes from the individual mind, not a screen.
