THE PERMANENCE OF RISK BY COLEMAN REAVES

Creativity drives many facets through exploration that undoubtedly inhibit growth. An especially important component of personal development through creativity is risk. 

For me, taking risks is a fearful challenge because they are 

tantamount to change. Change is one of the most difficult things that we face but I have come to terms that change is inevitable. 

One reason we don't like change is we get comfortable where we are and even if it's not perfect we accept it, because it's familiar. Ultimately, what happens is, because we're not willing to change, we get stuck in our old mindsets instead of moving forward into a beautiful unknown. 

There have been many times where I have avoided risk in favor of safety but tattoos -for me specifically- have created a permanent reminder that change is perfectly natural and sometimes even necessary... Though painful at times, the final result can be extremely gratifying and meaningful. 

If there is one downside though, it's that like tattoos, risk can become very addicting!
