PURSUING MY PERSONAL LEGEND BY MAGGIE DRURY

The idea of a Personal Legend comes from Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist. It represents identifying our destiny, finding our purpose in life and pursuing it.

In working towards my own personal legend, I have learned that being creative is essential. Creativity allows me to see the extraordinary in the ordinary and see all aspects of my life from a positive perspective. I have become more intentional with my thoughts and actions and, in doing so, have become more aware of the omens the universe presents to me. It all starts with silencing my VOJ and simply saying “yes” more often.

I don’t have my personal legend completely figured out, and I am not always one to silence my VOJ. But I do know that I get better at it each day. That slow, steady growth is taking me down the path that was laid out for me.

 If you have ever read the Alchemist you have heard the quote, “When you want something, all the universe conspires to help you achieve it.”

I believe that, if you take a step back and allow yourself to embrace life, you will realize that the universe is on your side.
