IMPATIENCE IS THE NEW PATIENCE BY NATALIE BRINKMAN
I love to get lost in creative energy. It’s the feeling when you are so giddy with anticipation that you can’t seem to focus on anything but starting a new project. To me, it is a combination of imagination and dreaming...endless dreaming.
When I was a child, my creative passion and energy was unstoppable. I would come up with terrible (and sometimes amazing) ideas and would not be able to focus until these ideas were coming to life between my own two hands.
My mother used to tell me, “Can’t you wait? Be patient!”
But you see, I have never been a patient person. I never have and I never will. The best ideas are often those that you start quickly and stop even faster. This mentality is definitely not always productive, but it does often lead to interesting adventures.
I like to give into my creative impulses. I like to feed my creative fire. And sometimes, that means I have to be impatient. Because to me, impatience is excitement and I never want to lose that.
Next time you feel a creative spark or an imaginative whim...feed it, nurture it, and let it burn. Be impatient...I dare you...because impatience is the new patience.
