HOW AFFIRMATIONS FUEL YOUR CREATIVITY BY JENNA WALTER
Creativity starts with words. It begins with communication and articulating your thoughts. We often don’t speak our thoughts aloud mainly because of our VOJ. According to the National Science Foundation, the average person has 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts every day. Of all those thoughts, about 80% are negative and 95% of them are the same thoughts had the day before.
What we speak over ourselves is what becomes our reality. Because what we tell ourselves not only shows what we think, but also affects how we speak, act, and feel. So I ask you this: What sorts of thoughts do you allow to pass through your head? What negative words do you feel yourself speaking when you know you shouldn’t be? And how is that working out for you?
I am a yoga instructor and something I always do in every single class is open and close out our practice with affirmations. Affirmations are mantras that you speak over yourself to overcome self-sabotaging or limiting thoughts and beliefs. Saying these positive affirmations are repeated not just to feel good, but to raise your vibrations. The consistency of them will help you create new beliefs that serve you on your journey.
I belong and deserve to be here just as much as anyone else.
I am thankful for every little thing that has led me to this very moment.
Even when others don’t understand what I’m creating, that doesn’t mean that what I’m creating isn’t meaningful.
I choose to see the beauty of today.
My value is not attached to what I accomplish.
