STEALING BACK MY CREATIVITY BY CAROLINE MCMANUS
Let’s go back to when I was ten years old — the most creative I’ve ever been. I invented a plethora of businesses with my friends. Everything you can think of from duct-tape wallets, a recycled fashion company and cupcakes for charity. The point is, when I was a kid I had no voice of judgement. I allowed myself to come up with ideas and actually make them into a reality. I collaborated with my friends, listened to others ideas and shined as a leader. Most importantly, I had so much fun.
Fast forward to today, I’m taught to play school. My voice of judgement fills my head, “Don’t ask dumb questions, that idea is stupid, do what everyone else is doing.” I don’t want to live the rest of my life thinking about what I could have done, I want to do it. I’m making it a mission for myself to silence my voice of judgment, and steal back what was rightfully mine, my creative
