EMBRACE THE BLINK BY DANIELLE RUBIN

EMBRACE THE BLINK BY DANIELLE RUBIN

I am going to be graduating in 188 days. Entering the real world, charting my own path for the very first time. And with 188 days to go, I’m still not 100% sure what I want to do. I am 82% sure that I want to travel… but I haven’t been able to fully commit.

Why? Because I don’t want to make the wrong decision. I don’t want to choose the wrong way and mess up my life.

Stupid, right (the answer is yes, it’s very stupid).

Stupid because there is no right or wrong way. There is no answer key, no guidebook, nothing. Whatever decision I make is the right one, because it’s my decision. Which is why we have to get better at trusting our guts, otherwise known as the blink.

If you ignore the blink, you’ll get stuck in the big decision spiral. You’ll spend weeks writing pro and con lists, asking for advice, googling answers and you still don’t decide because you’re frozen in fear that you’ll choose the wrong way.

If you listen and feel, you know what decision to make. Deep down your gut is telling you which way you need to go. So go for it, trust your gut, go in at 100% sure. Embrace the blink
