GLITTER BY CORTLIN MORRIS

GLITTER BY CORTLIN MORRIS

I have always despised glitter. From a young age, I refused to use it because I hated the mess, detested the feeling of it between my fingers, and was appalled by the sparkle. So, I opted for paint - less mess, more practical, and much easier to control.

Glitter and creativity have a lot in common. They are messy, all over the place, hard to contain, and avoided by many. But, once you open the container, it’s impossible to manage and quickly covers everything with a captivating glow.

When I did my C4 photo exploration, I had no issue identifying how I would make my image more feminine. But, I chose to avoid messiness at all costs - I even folded the clothes in my first few shots. After taking a few days to rethink my concept, I realized that I was holding back. So, I swallowed my pride and bought pink glitter at Walmart and covered almost every square inch of my 8x10 foot bedroom. Sometimes it just takes a little sparkle.
