YOU SHOULD BUY A LEGO SET BY BEN GRIME
As a kid, I would build and play with Lego sets. The first time I would get a set, I would typically zip through the instructions and have a build done as designed. After they’re done, I would play and imagine whole fantasy worlds and situations that would play out with these sets and minifigures. Over the years my interest waned and I wouldn’t be satisfied holding a set with building bricks on what was supposed to be smooth and obviously stiff characters. My interest faded fully when I began to understand price, and when my parents knew that I did too.
Over this past summer, I got a gift card for my birthday and bought two lego sets. Being able to take my time and enjoy the process of creating something felt incredibly therapeutic and inspiring. The inspiration for me that followed was that I would look at everyday things and think about how they were built and how I would have built them out of Legos. I am glad I got back into making sets and will continue to try to inspire myself going forward
