The Medicine Game, as it is known by its earliest competitors, is the world’s most creative game. Known as lacrosse today, the game is so creatively beautiful that the Haudenosaunee Nation carries the game’s origin story which explains the power of the sacred game as it is “played for the Creator’s enjoyment and as medicine for the people.”

Those who have seen a lacrosse game were probably amazed by the immense speed and skill the game requires and extremely confused by what had just happened before their very own eyes. And those who have played the game understand that skill is not birthed to anyone and the game is much more challenging than the wizards of college and professional lacrosse make it look.

Nevertheless, lacrosse is much like anything else that requires creativity in the world; the game requires strong passion, continuous failure, and relentless persistence. Lacrosse is not easy by any means, but for someone who truly loves the game, the creativity the game of lacrosse encourages and requires is worth every moment of failure, growth, and success.
