CONSUMABLE CREATIVITY BY RACHEL WIBLE
Ever since I was a kid, I loved making cookies for Christmas. When I got old enough, and I could use the kitchen oven by myself, I was finally allowed to explore my own creativity in the kitchen. I found that I really enjoyed making cakes, so I started to make cakes for my family’s birthdays, Easter, and other events.
When baking cakes, I found many possibilities of colors, flavors, and designs. I would make chocolate cakes, different colored white cakes, strawberry cakes, and so many more. Sometimes I would try to make my cakes taller by stacking more layers, and I would fill in between layers with different flavored frosting and fillings. I love baking cakes particularly because of the decorating possibilities.
I am incredibly close with my cousin because we both love to bake. Every time I go and visit her, we make cakes and cupcakes. My happiest moments with my family are baking with my cousin. Baking cakes are my way of expressing creativity. I know my cakes are not perfect, and I am no professional baker, but that is the beauty of creativity, in its own special way it is perfect.
