PIZZA: THE CREATIVE SCIENCE BY FINN WRIGHT
Making pizza is an art; making pizza is also a science. It is a beautiful fusion of the two disciples, and it is inherently creative
When I first started making pizza I had no idea of the many intricacies involved in the process. To be completely honest I was just hungry and curious to see whether I could make my favorite food better than my local pizzerias. I did not expect this simple experiment to turn into a major hobby of mine and something that I have spent years working on, however, I think that is part of the beauty of curiosity. Curiosity will take you places you never thought you would go, and make you do things you never expected to do.
Along my pizza making journey I realized that the most creative part of the process was not the art of physically assembling the pizza; the most creative part of the process is the science of making and fermenting the dough. Because temperature has such a big impact on the process, there is no real set recipe to follow. It is something that you have to be creative with and figure out yourself.
Making pizza has taught me that anything can be creative. Even something as procedural as science can be extremely creative, you just have to be willing to try and find creativity within it.
