“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Genesis 1:27

I believe in God. I believe He is the Creator of the universe. And as it says above, I believe that we were all created in His image. 

The first verb in the whole bible is “created.” If we were created in His image, and He is the ultimate Creator, that means we were created to be creators. 

We were created to ask questions. To think outside the box. To create, in a variety of ways, using the world around us. 

With creativity comes expression. Creative thinking becomes true creativity once you put it into action. The world around us is to be used to bring our creative thoughts to life. To express what is in our minds and in our hearts. We all have something to say and we must use our creative muscles to share whatever that something is with the world around us. 

That something in our hearts that is burning to get out is the engine that powers creativity. That something in my heart is Jesus Christ and my creative drive comes from the desire to glorify God. 

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men.” Colossians 3:23
