THE OXYMORONIC CREATIVE DREAMING WITH HER EYES OPEN BY NICOLE BRUMLEY
*Swinging watch in front of your face* “You are consciously dreaming right now. You are feeling very, very awake. At the start of the command ‘Go’ you will enter into a trance of a conscious dream…”
I am bitter sweet when my mind strolls at a million light years per minute; I try to hold on to concrete ideas and thoughts about who I am and who I can be as a creative. This is the same halting process of when I wake up from a dream and try to remember every single detail.
Creativity is a conscious dream. I say this because my creativity is a harmonious oxymoron best described as a reality-dream-world. The way we live out our dreams should be how we live out our creativity. Psychologists say your dreams interpret your subconscious, meaning you are unconsciously aware of yourself; however, entrepreneurs or any creative search for conscious awareness.
In my conscious dream, I think with certain uncertainties, introspective big-pictures, all while dying to live in a vivid reality.
Unlike dreaming with my eyes closed, my creativity acts as a scary-unknown outcome I cannot wake up from. But that is the beauty of a creative risk. When I have failed and face repercussions in my Psyche or am thriving in a bold move that changed my life; in both instances, I had the privilege of not waking up from the life I chose to live through creativity.
Sweet dreams,
“Go”
